Toni and Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill to purchase Sofa/Sleepers.
A grant from Bay Area Community Foundation Helped Fund this New Initiative

Bay City, MI  –  January 4, 2022.  The Toni and Trish House received $4,000. from the Men’s Philanthropy Group Endowment Fund and Community Initiative Fund to purchase Sofa/Sleepers.  These funds will provide comfort to our families who are staying with our guests.

The Toni and Trish House like many other non-profits had to cancel many fundraising events over the last two years, which eliminated any extra spending for needed items.  Those needed items included worn out couches in all of our rooms.  With this grant we were able to purchase four (4) new sofa sleepers that will enable our families comfort while sitting and sleeping at our house, with their guests in their time of need.

Rita Maier, President of the Board of Directors values the work that the Bay Area Community Foundation does and the support that they give non-profits in Bay and Arenac County.  The sofa/sleepers that were provided with this grant were very needed for the families staying at the Toni and Trish House.

The Bay Area Community Foundation awards grants twice a year to local nonprofits and 501c(3)s in Bay and Arenac Counties.  The Foundation’s mission is to fulfill a wide array of donors’ charitable wishes by building permanent endowment funds and serving as a leader for community improvement through effective grant making and collaboration.

The Toni and Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill provides a home for our guests and their family for up to 3 months with staff and volunteers offering shelter, meals, personal care and round-the-clock physical, emotional and spiritual support.  We offer this donation based support to not replace, but rather extend the ability of family to provide care.
