Toni and Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill initiates mission coordination plan for sustainability Bay City, MI – For the 2020-21 year The Toni and Trish House received $10,000 from the Community initiative Fund at the Bay Area Community Foundation to address their emerging and evolving operational needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the 2020-21 year, the Toni and Trish House like many other non-profits had to cancel or adapt many fundraising events. To recover from this lack of funding we were able to put into effect a mission coordination plan, administered by Michele Vennix as our Mission Coordinator. Michele’s role included writing new grants, establishing new fundraisers such as the first ever Toni and Trish Golf Outing and re-establishing existing fundraisers with COVID precautions in mind.
Additionally, due to the lack of volunteers during COVID we were able to put a support care coordination and facilities management plan in place to back up our staff when needed. This role included deep cleaning to eliminate infection and additional maintenance responsibilities for safety.
Thank you to the support of the Bay Area Community Foundation we were able to put these plans into action. The Bay Area Community Foundation awards grants twice a year to local non-profits and 501(c)(3)s in Bay and Arenac Counties. The Foundation’s mission is to fulfill a wide array of donor’s charitable wishes by building permanent endowment funds and serving as a leader for community improvement through effective grantmaking and collaboration.
The Toni and Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill provides a home for our guest ‘s and their family for up to 3 months with staff and volunteers offering shelter, meals, personal care and round-the-clock physical, emotional and spiritual support. We offer this donation based support to not replace, but rather extend the ability of family to provide care.
