Toni and Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill to do a building renovation with

A grant from Oscar P. & Louise H. Osthhelder Advisory Fund of the Bay Area Community Foundation

Bay City, MI – March 28, 2023. The Toni and Trish House has received $10,400 from the Oscar P. & Louise H. Osthelder Advisory Fund for Room and Building Entry Modifications.

The Toni and Trish House like many other non-profits had to cancel many fundraising events over the last three years, which eliminated any extra spending for needed items. With this grant we were able to provide Labor and Materials to install 3 double 32” interior doors, 1 exterior 42”door and 1 exterior 48” door. Additionally we installed two new outlets
and moved and refigured a closet door.

Rita Maier, President of the Board of Directors values the work that the Bay Area Community Foundation does and the support that they give non-profits in Bay and Arenac County. The entry door and room renovations enables our beds to be moved freely about the house and adds extra safety and security measures and expedites an emergency evacuation.

The Bay Area Community Foundation awards grants twice a year to local nonprofits and 501c(3)s in Bay and Arenac Counties. The Foundation’s mission is to fulfill a wide array of donors’ charitable wishes by building permanent endowment funds and serving as a leader for community improvement through effective grant making and collaboration. The Toni and Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill provides a home for our guests and their family for up to 3 months with staff and volunteers offering shelter, meals,
personal care and round-the-clock physical, emotional and spiritual support. We offer this donation based support to not replace, but rather extend the ability of family to provide care. Photos of our improvements are in the Photo Gallery.
